Monarch Butterflies, The Dawning and Capacity

RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #78 Vast&ClearhaikuchallengeMartha and her daughter, Crissa, are prepping Martha’s bedroom to paint. It will be later in the day before she has time to write.

I have my coffee at my desk and I’ve had time to let my muse to register a subject for my first haiku.

Monarch Butterflies

Monarch Butterflies
Spread broad wings, ready, take-off
Fly from cold to warmth
Beautiful luminous days
Spent in Mexico

Journey to Mexico's butterfly sanctuaries and stand among hundreds of millions of monarchs as they complete their remarkable migration.

Martha’s two haiku for our enjoyment.
The Dawning
love, no reciprocation
It’s clear to me now
Vast unused knowledge
idles in cerebellum
clearly missing spark!

  2. I enjoyed your Monarch haikus. I was just reading about them today. Did you see the Google doodle? I read a wonderful book where Monarch migration played a major plot element, Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. If you are interested in Monarchs and would like a good read (although I found it challenging), I do recommend it.
