Green Eyes and Red Sunglasses

Cheryl Maycumber Martynec, my friend in Huntington Beach, CA asked on Facebook this morning if anyone could help her recall a song running through her mind, something about red sunglasses. I hope I sent her the right one.

Oh me, oh my, this reminds me of the music I danced to at Horn Springs the summer of 1957.  Arthur Gunter and his band came from Nashville to Lebanon to play and we danced the night away.

J. T. Hodges from Ft. Worth, TX and from a musical family, wrote Green Eyes and Red Sunglasses his debut album titled J. T. Hodges.

LyricsMode

Cross-legged on the hood
Of a jet black Chevrolet
High heels hangin’ off her toes
Lord let her look my way
With them

Green eyes and red sunglasses
Green eyes and red sunglasses
Breakin’ the heart of every man that passes
Green eyes and red sunglasses

I can’t help but sit and stare
Just like every other guy
But I can tell she doesn’t care
She thinks it’s fun to hypnotize
With them

Green eyes and red sunglasses
Green eyes and red sunglasses
Breakin’ the heart of every man that passes

Green eyes and red sunglasses

Whoa, somethin’ ’bout the lady’s got me going crazy
Whoa, jumpin’ like a doggone fish on a line

Green eyes and red sunglasses
Green eyes and red sunglasses
Breakin’ the heart of every man that passes
Green eyes and red sunglasses

Green eyes and red sunglasses
Green eyes and red sunglasses
Breakin’ the heart of every man that passes
Green eyes and red sunglasses

Won’t you look my way
Won’t you look my way
