I hear it before I ever see it. Oh, the hickory smoke wafts among the trees, teasing my senses. The clearing comes in sight. People are milling about; the bands are tuning up and ready for the morning show. It’s Bluegrass Festival in Tennessee. Along with pure Appalachia – American bluegrass, there will be smoky pulled pork and sauce served in a quart jars.
Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English folks brought their folks to settle in the Appalachia Mountain range. They gathered and traded songs and played for entertainment. The result is this unique “high lonesome sound.”
