Nature and Rescue

Week 44 of Ronovan’s haiku challenge and the prompt is charge and lovers.

by Meredith

Geese partner for life
Protect in sickness or health
True loving mates

This is one of the photos I took with my iPhone while vacationing on my brother’s farm. I wanted to get closer, but I’m perceived as a threat. I could be flailed with feathers if I got any closer. I’m trying to teach myself to make a slideshow using Windows Media Player for a post about my time there.

A kidnapped princess
Waiting for her prince charming
Charged with love to save

  1. Hello Meredith! The first haiku is special. I love geese. I find them more beautiful than swans. I’d love to see the pictures of your brother’s farm. Good luck on the slide-show.
The second haiku was fun. I loved the romantic fantasy element involved. 😀 ❤

  2. Hi Meredith, here we have many geese around all the time, they are gorgeous, but I’ve never attempted to go very close, I heard they can attack you if they are afraid, and they are very strong. I think the princess should not wait for the prince, she should take care of herself!

    • Elizabeth, my brothers wife loves the geese. She orders assortment of eggs, producing a variety of different geese to incubate each spring.

You’re absolutely right about the princess Learning to live well on her own merits. We are strong enough to do that. It takes some of us longer to learn that then others. I was thinking from the point of view of when I was 16 or 17 and I believed in fairytales.

If you go to that link, you can put in your images and set the speed at which you want them to rotate. It’s how I did the dancing Hugh when interviewed him. Just load them and then play around with the features on the right. Pretty simple. 🙂 Then you save it and load it here like you would any other Media.
