Day 4 Black and White Photography Challenge

Maria invited me to participate in a black and white photography challenge for 5 days. Click on Maria’s name for a link to all of Maria’s submissions.

There are only two rules for the black and white photography challenge:

1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in black and white.
2. Each day invite another blogging friend to join in the fun.

Today I’d like to invite Kathy Burke, my friend in Ireland to join our growing group. Her hobbies include reading, writing and photography. Kathy I hope you’ll accept the challenge. You don’t want to miss a visit to her blog where you will find an eclectic mix of subjects.

Mother was artistic. She had no fear to plunge into something new. I have some of her watercolors, needle point, and this purse.

I don’t know the processes she used to craft this unusual wooden box-purse. Perhaps it was a kit, and the flowers came with the kit. I do know a decoupage technique was used to adhere  the flowers to the box. It’s worn out now, but I keep as a remembrance of the one who made it, store handkerchiefs in it.

Martha has the one she made for her as well. It’s yellow with spring flowers.

  1. That photo went from interesting to ‘Wow, it’s a purse!’ I first thought it was a nice box, but a box-purse. From one who has made many a bag in her lifetime, this is one of the most fascinating I have ever seen made by another. Lovely memories attached to it also Meredith. Xx
