Day 3 Black and White Photography Challenge

Maria, this has been a challenge. I know I mentioned to you we have 5 or 6 days of rain in Clarksville. It might be a good day to take a black and white photo, but I doubt it. There is gloom hanging low, and the light doesn’t seem right. Add to that I’m using my iPhone. A good day for ducks, but not for me.

Some folks seem to have a knack at framing the perfect picture of interesting objects or scenes, not I. I recognize the beauty of another’s photo, but I can’t seem to translate it into my work.

There are only two rules for the black and white photography challenge:

1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using either a past or recent photo in black and white.
2. Each day invite another blogging friend to join in the fun.

I invite Linda of kerlundphoto to join us in the black and white photography challenge. Linda lives in Sweden. She is a busy working mom who loves photography. Her pictures are excellent. She enjoys gardening as well. I met Linda about a year ago in Blogging U 101. She writes and shows her photos for Covey View in addition to her own blog.

Last night I scrambled to find something interesting to photograph. Here is my  selection, my bed. Actually, my sister’s bed that I get to sleep in every night.

my bedI’ve always loved the curlicues, the posts that curve in, and all the delicate iron work in this bed. I wonder who made it; who slept in it?

My sister, Martha, bought it for her oldest daughter’s room when she was a teen. No history accompanies it. It is here that I can dream, think, read and relax like the child of the King that I am.

This was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee in 1967 at RCA studios by Skeeter Davis.

  1. You have risen to challenge admirably Meredith. 😊. The white bed contrasts well with delicate iron lacework of the bed head. I am sure you have many sweet dreams here.

I love this song too – it’s like a lullaby. Hope you get some warmer weather soon. Our heatwave continues! Sending a bit of sunshine your way. 🌞
