I see Cee’s name and challenges on my talented friends blogs. It has always been photo challenges. Today I received email from Mary Daniels Brown. She was answering questions for a different kind of challenge from Cee. I was intrigued, and I wanted to answer those questions too.
Here are Cee’s questions for week nine.
How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
I celebrated my 75th birthday February 25. I’m enjoying my life now. It isn’t perfect, there’s no such thing. I’m content and still active. If I could choose an age it would be 50. I was in the best shape ever physically. The gym was a regular part of each week day. I would want to take my current knowledge with me. It would keep me from making a life-changing mistake. That’s fantasy. I’m going to be happy with where I am now.
Are you left or right-handed?
My siblings and I are ambidextrous. Martha and I discovered we are left eye dominate. That doesn’t have any thing to do with handedness. Some studies conclude that hand preference develops in the womb. I write with right hand, but perform other tasks left handed.
If you HAD to change your name, what would you change it to?
I wonder do all children go through a time when they want to change their name? I think I was 12. Where in the world did my mother come up with Meredith? She told me she had a girl friend in Missouri named Meredith. I tried to persuade everyone to call me Ann, my middle name. When that did happen, I tried for Edith, the last part of Meredith. Thank heaven no one went for that one either. By the time I was in high school I noticed my name was unique, and I was fully satisfied to keep it. I never had a nick name. I think I have my mom to thank for that. Meredith is Celtic, and means protector of the sea according to some sources.
Where do you hide junk when people come over?
My career as a teacher/librarian was instrumental in teaching me to organize and purge. I love baskets, draw dividers, and bins to organize and store like items together. About once a quarter I notice things have gotten a little sloppy and I do a clean and sort day. It’s easy now that I’ve downsized.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
We had a sleet storm topped with 6″ of snow. I’m grateful I had provisions and I didn’t have to drive. We are expecting warmer weather next week. Nick and I will be delighted! We can go on our walks again.
