Coat Envy

Word Press Blogging University 201 Poetry, Day Four: Animals, Concrete Poem, Enjambment

I’m hesitating posting. I’m not at all sure that what I read and what I did will produce the results I want. I have another sort of envy today, I envy those who understand and make beautiful shapes to compliment their poems.

O graceful feline I covet
your coat of sable, black and
brown. I spy your talons, long and sharp,
your teeth gleaming in the light.
You whisper to me that you aren't the prey I
am. You may keep your coat
I'll wear a cloth one embellished with a
             a collar stamped your spots.

I just previewed, I'm not as thick-headed as I feared. I'm laughing, laugh with me.
