“Don’t fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they’ll soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good…Delight yourself in the Lord. Commit your way to the Lord and he will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him…Refrain from anger and turn from wrath—it only leads to evil. Evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the earth.” (Psalm 37)
Do you wonder if a relationship with the Lord is worthwhile? Sometimes it’s difficult when we see others profiting from their evil ways while we struggle. It’s better to focus on Jesus and in learning who our Creator is. We can’t lose when we claim his promises as ours.
“Finally, all of you live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Don’t repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:8-9
When we are in the middle of hateful confrontation with evil, it is difficult to not think what am I going to do now? Instead, a far better question is what is God going to do now? Is it easy to wait on the Lord to deliver us from evil? No, our will and view-point is a strong pull to seek retribution. Fill your mind with his promises so you can recall them quickly. They are a life line to pull us from anger and set our path straight. I want to shine like the dawn, a reflection of the inner light of the Holy Spirit. I don’t want to miss out any of his blessings.

  1. The Word of God is alive and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword. Know it and claim its promises.
